Beverly Heights sits in northeast Edmonton on the north bank of the North Saskatchewan River, with residential streets rising from the river valley. The area has a continental climate: warm summers, cold winters and changing conditions that make the valley’s scenery distinct across the seasons. Nearby Gold Bar Park offers river-valley paths and open green space, while the River Valley Trail system provides routes for walking and cycling. Local shops and eateries are concentrated along 118 Avenue and nearby streets; a broader range of shopping and dining is a short drive away. The area’s history is tied to the former Town of Beverly, once a coal-mining community, and traces of that past remain part of its local character. Residents can get around on foot or by bike for nearby errands, and Edmonton Transit connects the area with other parts of the city.
