Kramer School

The Kramer School is the oldest public school building in Little Rock. With its brick and rusticated stone construction, the former school combines Queen Anne and Romanesque Revival styles, both of which were popular at the end of the nineteenth century. The school was named for Frederick W. Kramer, the first president of the Little Rock School District's Board of Directors. The building remained an elementary school until 1978, after which it lay vacant until it was sold and rehabilitated in 1998 into residential lofts. Today, the Kramer School has 22 beautifully restored apartments ranging including 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom units. These units all have modern appliances to include in-unit washers and dryers.
