Anacker is a residential neighborhood in Portage, a small city between the Wisconsin and Fox rivers in south-central Wisconsin. The area has four distinct seasons, with warm summers and cold, snowy winters. Portage’s historic downtown and the Portage Canal connect local history to the city’s river setting; nearby parks and riverfront paths offer room for a walk or time outdoors. In town, dining ranges from casual restaurants to cafés, with everyday shopping clustered around downtown and along the main commercial roads. The Portage Center for the Arts hosts performances and community arts events. Driving is the most practical way to reach many destinations, while local streets make short trips around town possible by foot or bike. The neighborhood’s setting offers access to both outdoor recreation and Portage’s everyday amenities.
