Yerba Buena Commons is funded in part by a federally regulated government program called the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit program. This government program along with other sources used to build the property require management to screen all applicants carefully. All potential residents must qualify based on projected annual income, assets, household size, background check, credit report and rental history. The LIHTC program also has guidelines for households containing full-time students. The screening and verification process are used consistently and uniformly for every applicant who applies for an apartment at Yerba Buena Commons.
