Crystal Downs

Michillinda, Wabaningo, South Whitehall and Sylvan Beach sit along White Lake and the Lake Michigan shoreline in western Michigan. The setting combines inland waterways, wooded stretches and sandy beach access, with snowy winters and warm summers shaped by the lake. White Lake is a central landmark, and nearby shoreline parks and public beaches offer places to walk, picnic and enjoy the water; local paths and open spaces also provide outdoor time with dogs. Whitehall’s small downtown adds independent dining, coffee and everyday shopping, while the Howmet Playhouse brings live performances to the area. The region’s maritime and lumber history is reflected in its waterfront character and local museums. Getting around is easiest by car, though biking and walking work well for nearby destinations, and seasonal boating adds another way to explore the lake and its connecting waters.
