Accord’s Mettacahonts, Lyonsville, Kripplebush, Liebhardt and Mill Hook are small hamlets set among the Rondout Valley’s farms, wooded hills and winding country roads. The Catskills shape the scenery and bring snowy winters, colorful autumns and warm summers. Historic stone houses and farm buildings reflect the area’s agricultural past, while nearby Minnewaska State Park Preserve offers hiking, cliffs and lake views. Around Accord, country markets, farm stands, cafés and casual eateries provide everyday stops; larger shopping and dining selections are found in nearby towns. Local galleries and seasonal markets add a modest arts and events scene. Driving is the most practical way to get around, with regional roads linking the hamlets and access to outdoor destinations. The rural setting offers open-air recreation, but services and destinations are spread out.
