Welcome to the Hollow of Shalott, where you can hide away from it all, while still be right next to it all! This cute little guesthouse as friendly deer, bunnies, birds, safety, tranquility, quiet, and abundant natural light from soaring ceilings and massive stacked windows. It also is car-free friendly, with numerous walking trails (not on any maps) networking through the neighborhood that immediately connect you by foot to : A.) Miles of unpaved woodland trails along Bolin Creek and Carolina North Forest, B.)Downtown village of Carrboro with its numerous eateries, cafes, creative arts scene, and farmer's market, and C. )Two different bus stops close by, for Line N or Line F, of the Chapel Hill free public transport system to get you around town and to campus. Vehicle parking on the property is available but highly limited, and shared with the primary resident, the Lady of Shalott. The guesthouse is freshly renovated to include a solid marble backsplash in the kitchenette. (It's gorgeous.) The crawlspace was also newly upgraded to ensure no chance of any mold, for those with sensitivities. Other amenities include a tiled entryway, easy-clean electric stove and oven, full-sized stainless steel fridge, two ceiling fans, a dimmer-switch light and built-in heater in the bathroom for cozy showers or relaxing baths, and a massive walk-in closet with your own personal washer and dryer at hand. Available furnished as is, or current furniture removed. One or two indoor cats welcome, other small animals case-by-case. Trash/recycling bins are shared with primary, and a compost bin is on the property for anyone wanting to give that a go. For those eco-minded, the HVAC system can create separate temperature zones, using the 2 different mini-splits and closing a pocket door. The huge windows on the E/N/W sides of the cottage ensure views of the woods, daily local deer, and bird baths. The windows also have reflective film added to improve privacy and thermal efficiency. Or you can just go sit outside in the Adirondack chairs or the grass, and absorb the sun and nature! Other residents on the property have an expectation of privacy, with no photos or videos taken of themselves or their personal property. No installation of cameras facing external to the guesthouse, to include doorbell cameras. No candles or open flames inside the guesthouse. No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property, inside or outside. Up to 2 cats allowed. If cat, or other pet, is taken outside they must be on a leash. Other small animals case-by-case. No pet rent charged. No dogs. No screws or nails into the walls, but very small picture tacks or 3M strips are OK. Use only ammonia-free window cleaner on the window film. No ammonia-based cleaner. Tenant will thoroughly clean the house at the end of the lease or a $250 cleaning fee will be charged. Owner pays for water/sewer/trash/recycling and yard maintenance.
