Daylight basement apartment located below our home, 15-20 minute drive west to Woodinville Costco and east to Monroe Fred Meyer, and within a co-housing community (Sharingwoodnet). Large windows surround 3 sides of the apartment and look out upon old growth forest. Newly remodeled bathroom and refinished hard wood floors. The community is situated on and members collectively own and maintain 39 acres of land with trails that surround the homes. There are also several other shared elements - community house for gatherings, playfield, playground, community garden and recycling center. The community house also has an IOU Pantry stocked with organic dairy, meats, canned and dry goods, spices and bread. Living in a co-housing community is not like living in a regular neighborhood where you may or may not get to know your neighbors. In co-housing, neighbors are encouraged to connect and work together to maintain the community. Each adult member of the community (renters and owners alike) is expected to participate in two community teams (roughly 3-4 hours per/month). Team signups occur once per year and there are a wide variety of teams to choose from.
