The Heights sits on the Palisades, a high ridge above the rest of Jersey City, with broad views toward Manhattan and the Hudson River. Its elevated setting brings breezes and a change in street level from the waterfront, while the climate follows the region’s four-season pattern. Riverview-Fisk Park offers open green space and skyline views, and Washington Park has paths and recreation areas. The neighborhood’s history is reflected in its residential streets and older architecture. Central Avenue is a mainstay for cafés, restaurants, grocery stores and everyday shopping; local dining ranges from casual takeout to sit-down spots. Arts and nightlife are more low-key than downtown, with small venues and bars nearby. Residents use buses, light rail connections and stairs or elevators down the Palisades, as well as bike routes and sidewalks. For The Heights, median rent is $2,500 per month, with a typical range of $645 to $25,806.
