The kitchen is equipped for your convenience. Three bedrooms provide restful spaces after a day by the water, complemented by two bathrooms with hot showers. Outside, find shade, chairs, a charcoal grill, horseshoes, and an outdoor shower, perfect for rinsing off sand after beach visits. Parking is available on the concrete driveway. Grilling is permitted only on the patio area downstairs. Gilchrist offers a serene beach experience between the open Gulf and the bay. The beach is wide and largely uncrowded, with slow-moving vehicles and fishermen at dawn. Houses are elevated on pilings, providing ample space and sky. Small cafes, bait shops, and stores are a short drive away, and the ferry to Galveston is nearby for day trips. The best way to get around is by car or truck for errands and exploring. For shorter distances, golf carts or walking down the quiet street to the sand are popular options. Mosquitos can be prevalent, so bringing bug spray is recommended. Please rinse sand off at the outdoor sand shower or water hoses before entering the house, and leave sandy shoes on the deck.
