Wahluke Slope Apartments - Unclaimed

Mattawa sits in the Columbia Basin of central Washington, where dry, sunny summers and cool winters shape an open, high-desert landscape. The nearby Columbia River and Potholes Reservoir bring boating, fishing and other water-based outings, while the surrounding terrain offers room for walks and cycling. Desert Aire is a planned community near the river with an airstrip and golf course; Wahluke is a more rural area with broad agricultural views. In Mattawa, local restaurants and cafés provide casual dining and coffee, and small shops cover everyday needs. The area’s history is tied to farming, irrigation and the development of the Columbia Basin. Driving is the most practical way to connect the communities and reach services, with regional roads linking them to other towns. Outdoor recreation is a defining part of life here.
