I am very disappointed with this purchase. The quality of the home has been far below expectations, with multiple issues requiring repairs within the first month of ownership. During the final walkthrough, which took place the day before closing, I was promised that all remaining repairs and touch-ups would be completed and that the house would be fully ready for closing the following day. Based on those assurances, I proceeded with the closing. However, after closing, it became clear that none of the promised repairs had been completed, and many of the same issues remained unresolved. Since moving in, I have had to repeatedly adjust my schedule to accommodate repair appointments. It is frustrating that issues the builder claimed would be resolved before closing still have not been fully addressed more than a month later. Coordinating these repairs has been a nightmare, as communication from the builder has been inconsistent. Sometimes I receive updates, and other times I have to repeatedly follow up just to get a response. Adding to the frustration, this community is not serviced by CenterPoint for gas utilities and instead uses a private company that charges a $46 monthly base fee for “maintenance” in addition to usage charges. Residents are also required to pay $75 per month for internet service because all homes are wired exclusively for a specific provider. Even if you choose to use a different internet provider, you are still required to pay the $75 monthly fee on top of whatever charges your chosen provider imposes due to LGI’s contract with the original company. Overall, the combination of poor construction quality, unfulfilled promises, ongoing repair issues, poor communication, and mandatory utility and internet fees has made this a very disappointing home-buying experience. I would not recommend purchasing a home in this community based on my experience.
