What My Client Loves About This Home: When we moved to Connecticut we were in search of a community. We fell in love with the town of New Milford, which has a town center that creates a wonderful small town charm and atmosphere. The town center is a vibrant area with many restaurants, a movie theater and plenty of shops to visit. In the middle of the town center is a grassy area called the Green which is a beautiful space that attracts New Milford residents to gather year round. Some of our favorite events on the Green are the Farmers Market, the Village Fair days and the caroling festivity in December. Candlewood Lake has many communities surrounding it, but we found Candlewood Trails to be very special. Just an hour drive from New York, we felt like we were on vacation when we came home to our neighborhood in the woods by the lake. We enjoyed beautiful walks along the lake year round and in the summer had a short walk down to the neighborhood sandy beach and clubhouse. Our neighbors gave us a very warm welcome and we loved joining in for the many events planned by this very social community. The social events have something for everyone, adults, kids, and families. Our favorites included the Clam Bake dinner by the beach, an Italian Potluck dinner, Wine Tasting, the annual Halloween and Holiday parties, Cigars & Spirits at the beach and numerous other get togethers hosted by residents. We found that being part of this community provided a quality of life that is not easy to find in our busy world. Another thing we have loved, is that our home is quite unique for a lake house in that it is very contemporary and has the many comforts of a modern home. We loved the beautiful kitchen, the spacious rooms, and high ceilings. We also loved the modern systems, available storage space, 2 car garage, and having a generator hookup. 1 Cedar also has wonderful natural landscaping including a koi pond and the most stunning fall colors in the neighborhood. Also important to note is that it has an available boat slip! We are certain that the new owners will love this home and neighborhood as much as we have.
