The Brick House, also known as Offenhouse, is the most comfortable house on the island. It is located on a cliff not far from Eagle Light, and has unsurpassed views over Deer Isle and Isle au Haut. Upstairs it has two master bedrooms with full baths plus an additional half-bath and three smaller bedrooms. Downstairs there is a sewing/computer room that can also be used as a bedroom, and yet another half bath. There is also a full attic. The living room is nearly forty feet wide, and is bordered on one side by a magnificent stone fireplace and on the other by a gorgeous wrap-around traditional Maine porch. The large country kitchen features a propane cooking stove, a wood-fired heating stove, a solar-powered 16 cu ft refrigerator/freezer, and plenty of counter space. While the house has hot water there is no dishwasher. Likewise, there is also no central heating, and electricity is limited -- like all houses on Eagle Island, this place is off the grid. But it has an AT&T hotspot for wi-fi, and outdoors there is a wood-fired hot tub.
