The house is in a gorgeous, old Silver Spring neighborhood called Woodside Park, and even though you feel like you are completely unplugged from the city when you're here --old growth trees, lots of lovely gardens and landscaping, stately, traditional houses and architecture-- you are only an 8-10 minute walk to downtown Silver Spring! My wife and I are former DC residents and avowed urbanites at heart, and we affectionately call our new neighborhood the "best of both worlds," so if like us, you crave the accessibility of the city, but like to get away for some fresh air and quiet time too, this is the apartment for you. In fact we're so close to downtown Silver Spring and the metro station (10-15min walk) that you can very easily live here without a car at all. My wife and I only own one car between the two of us (which I rarely use), and our two previous upstairs housemates did not own cars. Between my feet, my bike, and my Zipcar membership, my travel needs are easily and comfortably met 90% of the time. We're asking $1600 for a single occupant, and $1,750 for a couple (1 car limit either way).
