Garden Oaks is an established neighborhood just north of IH 610. It is known for its large lots and wide setbacks from the streets. It has a mixture of new and original construction. Original homes were generally built from the 1930's to the 1950's. There is a very active homeowner's association that enforces the strict deed restrictions in the neighborhood. It is convenient to IH 610 making a downtown or Galleria commute 15 minutes or so.
