We have a special home. It's a triple-lot in the South Gables area, sitting at the center of a wonderful neighborhood bordered by Grenada Boulevard, Hardee Road, Maynada Street, and South Dixie Highway, directly across the street from the University of Miami. We were lucky enough to find a Gables home with large open rooms, created by removing a series of interior walls. As a result, we have two living rooms, the second of which leads into an open dining room area, which overlooks an open, spacious kitchen. The third bedroom can be used as a large home-office area, playroom, or entertainment room. Overall, it has the size and lot of a home, but in the main living areas, it has the interior feel of a loft. The large pool is the centerpiece of a lush backyard dotted with avocado, banana and lemon trees. We put a new Spanish-tile room on the house in 2004, when we bought the home. We're within walking distance of the University, Moon Thai and Stir Moon, and a number of other restaurants and retail shops. We love this home and the area so much that, if we are "forced to move" by getting our desired price, we're committed to staying in this area; it's easy to fall in love with Coral Gables.
