This listing is for someone to rent the basement of the house that I'm renting the main floor of. You would have the basement all to yourself as your own separate house which includes: 1bd + 1ba + private office + separate living area. My dog does like to hang out down there sometimes, so you would have to be okay with him being around. He's a 13yo border collie mix and very well behaved. Your basement has its own private entrance from outside but it is also accessible inside the main house from the kitchen. We would share the upstairs kitchen, just you and myself, no one else. The rest of the upstairs of the house would not be shared, only the kitchen and the laundry room. You would also have shared use of the huge fenced yard, outdoor kitchen and bbq, with just myself and my dog. There is a private driveway for off street parking as well. Your share of the rent would be $1,600 mo + shared utilities/mo (also split house cleaners 2x per month). This is negotiable depending on the living circumstances and how little you use the kitchen upstairs. Deposit is 1 month's rent. Ideal for someone with a dog and/or loves to have a garden. To be clear this rental is for an individual and the whole basement would be all to yourself (your own bedroom, office, bathroom, and living area). MUST LOVE DOGS. The house is in the very cute Brookland neighborhood (on Girard St NE between 10th & 12th St NE) and is 2,200sqft with a fully fenced wrap around 5,500sqft yard. The basement is quite large as its own separate house and is UNFURNISHED. My room and bath is on 2nd floor and separate from the whole rest of the house. House comes with washer/dryer, fridge, dishwasher, stove, outdoor kitchen, etc. The wraparound yard is fully fenced and there are two outdoor dining areas for BBQs for us to share. There is a private driveway in the back with offstreet parking for another car. Edible cherry trees, grape vine orchard, mulberry trees. Hoping to find a very chill working professional or student. Dogs are welcome and must get along with my 13yo border collie mix. I'm a woman in my 40s and work for a museum making art films. Potential renter must be very clean, tidy, considerate, and respectful. No wild parties, but chill outdoor dinner parties once in a while are cool. Someone who is willing to help with the gardening / yard work and the upkeep of this very cool property would be ideal! This place has a ton of potential and the private property owner is very nice, lives next door, and is open to any reasonable changes to the house. The walls in the basement have all been recently all been painted to white. I have an extra large area rug you can use for the basement if you like. Available now! House is less than a mile (13min walk) to Rhode Island or Brookland Redline stops it's between both. A brand new Trader Joe's opened only 13min walk away.
