    Entire cottage with shared yard for rent (landlord lives in ADU on property) Furnished 935 sq ft 2 bedroom cottage with small office. (6'x8' electric heated) One bedroom is 10x12 bedroom, the other is 10x14. New appliances in kitchen, dishwasher, decent sized dining room. Living room is 11x 14. Tiny(7'x8') but functional bathroom with 36" glass shower(newly gutted and redone) Covered front and side porch. Back deck off the kitchen. Semi fenced in yard with a nice view of the woods behind our house. Big cedar outdoor shower with hot water on the lower deck. 18" Dishwasher in kitchen and your own washer and dryer in the basement. Utilities are not included but run on average of $250 monthly. We can provide exact usage for each month. Electric heat in the kitchen, dining room, water heater and in bedrooms. Propane heater for the main part of the house, cooking, and dryer. 5 minute walk to the ferry. Fairly busy road in tourist season and a bit quieter in the winter months(Sept-June) We are a Married gay couple with 7 chickens(free range) and three small dogs. We are friendly, quiet and keep to ourselves. A little bit of barking from our dogs and we are working cutting that down. We are located on the property in a separate building. We are attentive landlords in regards to caring for our property and would love a tenant that respects and treats the property as their own! There can be a possibility of gardening space if wanted. Pets are allowed with references. Please check the ferry schedule which I will attach before you respond to this ad. The ferry runs roughly every hour from 6:15am-10pm(11:30pm in the Peak season June-Sept) so you are limited with what shifts you can work. The ferry ride is 20 min which mean that you will arrive mainland at 6:35am the earliest. Casco Bay Lines offers 30 and 90 day passes, which include a bike and/or one dog. 30 day passes are $48 in Summer and $32 Off-Season. 90 day passes are $144 in Summer and $96 Off-Season. Also consider that you will not be driving your car on and off the island daily. You will park you car on the street in designated residents parking area near commercial st. The furthest you will walk is about 5-8 minutes away. There are tricks to island living that we will be glad to share with you. Im from NYC so I often feel like it is similar to the commute there. Island living is not for everyone but is definitely for people who love the great outdoors and would like to be walking distance to the ocean anytime they want, no loading up your gear to head to the beach...just put on your coat or grab your bike and go. This is a beautiful place to live and is perfect for remote worker and/or the folks who love being so close to the ocean. 900-1000 full time residents and up 3000 in the summer. Oh, don't forget many tourist during the summer months which makes the island come alive! Many things to do on island...Art walks, gallery showings, live music, fundraisers, bbq's, kids theater and many other things I'm sure I am forgetting at the moment. We are open to discussing the lease length and pets allowed. Heat Propane heater, gas kitchen stove tenants pay Electric is used for office, kitchen/dining room and for hot water heater Water tenant will pay.
