My heart skipped when I first entered to find this preserved 1952 Post and Beam home on a small quiet street near the top of Altadena. The exposed wood ceilings, walls of glass, and even the original counters still in place - so exciting! Then the heirs casually produced the original plans from Kemper Nomland - what a find!!! Kemper and his father designed the only Case Study home in Pasadena in 1947. Kemper Nomland Jr. then went on the design his own home and at least a dozen others in the surrounding neighborhoods in the early 50's. That one family lived and thrived in this home for decades is a testament to the elegance of Nomland's design. The beautiful mountain vista is so thoroughly enjoyed throughout this sublime three bedroom and two bath work of art.
