My husband and I tore out the wall-wall carpeting and linoleum floor when we purchased the home. We refinished the hardwoods we found trashed underneath the carpeting in the living room, dining room, bedrooms. Now they are gorgeous! We then put in tile flooring in the kitchen, laundry and old breeze-way rooms. We painted all the rooms different colors. After this my husband resurrected the 3 pond/2 waterfall water feature previously covered with ivy in the backyard. We also removed the fiberglass covering over the back patio and left the frame which 2 different wysteria and akeeba now grow on. 3 years ago we updated the electricity and installed a hot tub, expanding the patio. 2 years ago we excavated the hillside vegetation and put in 3 terraced levels to improve the garden. Beautiful!
