    108 N Monroe Street Abilene, Kansas 67410 Monroe is a quiet street in an up-market residential neighborhood near the Northwestern boundary of the city of Abilene. This is a white geometric ranch -style home well positioned on a large wooded lot with various kinds of mature trees to include “Bristlecone” pines, Maple, Cypress, Honey locust, and Sweet Gum. It has an oversized two car garage on the south side and an additional large detached garage/storage/shop with electricity 110/220 and a built-in workbench and shelving. Entry to the garage is via an ally/utility easement on the south side of the lot. There is a front door entry from Monroe which has a new “oval glass” security door with matching screen door, but the main entry is through the attached garage. The house is 2440 sq. ft. with 4 bedrooms and two full baths. The main floor has an open floor plan with a large living room which joins a dining room and the kitchen with the entry from the garage. Adjoining from the living room are two large bedrooms each with double closets. The bedrooms are joined by a full bath which was upgraded in 2021. The kitchen was remodeled in 2017 and has new “Corian” countertops with built-in two bowled sink with faucet. There is a new stainless steel dishwasher and a stainless steel gas stove with 5 burners and a convection oven. The kitchen cabinets were reconfigured and laminate flooring was added in the dining room and hallway. The house has radiant baseboard heat with a boiler in the basement utility room. There are two large window units in the maim living area which have been upgraded with double panels glass. A new complete central A/C unit was added in 2017 with an additional 12” of “blown” insulation in the attic. The basement access is from the kitchen/garage entry and the stairwell was reconfigured for ease of access. The stairs and the entire basement area is carpeted with white “Berber” carpet with the exclusion of the bathroom and utility room. There is a large utility room with built-in storage shelves and washer/dryer hook-ups. We added a new hot water heater and a utility sink. There is a guest bedroom with a full on-suite bath and a new (low water usage) commode. The bath was upgraded in 2021. There is another large living area with built-in shelving on either end and additional bedroom on the south side. There is a red brick patio/barbecue area behind the garage and there is a fenced dog-run on the west property line. The house has city water and sewer with an additional water well with a new submersible pump and wellhead. The exterior was painted in 2023 and the roof was new in 2019.
