Glen Rose Limestone and two rows of ship lap make the walls about 12" thick which means it's quiet. Pier and beam construction make it high and dry in floods. Took a direct hit from a tornado in Hurricane Ike and it only damaged a few of the stones, which were repaired by a stone mason.
