    What's special

Utilities included! This is available October 1st. Available furnished (preferred - as pictured) or unfurnished. Cats or quiet dogs ok (i.e. no barking pls)! No smoking (of anything) in the building. Peaceful, bright garden apartment in a historic limestone building. The space is newly renovated, with hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, and access to a huge backyard garden. It feels like a cross between a serene country cottage and a chic designer's pad. Community: This is a private 1 bedroom apartment in our 4 apartment brownstone. We (the owners) live in the building and are friends with all the other tenants - we love the idea of this being more than just a place to live, but also a fun and neighborly little community! Appliances: - 2 Mini-splits, one in the living room and one in the bedroom provide both air conditioning and heating - Additional radiators in the apartment keep it cozy - Brand new refrigerator - Brand new dishwasher - Brand new gas stove and oven - Brand new microwave The bedroom: The bedroom is quiet, serene, and private. Because the bedroom is all the way in back of the building, street noise doesn't penetrate it. It's an extension, so there's no one walking above you. There are blackout curtains for those who need darkness to get a good night's sleep. The exposed brick adds charm. The bathroom: Everything in the bathroom is bright, new, and sparkling clean. The kitchen: I love this kitchen. It's newly renovated with gorgeous Moroccan zellige tile, stainless steel appliances, and granite counter tops. The custom wood shelving gives the room an open, carefree feel and allows you to easily access anything you need. The island makes it the perfect gathering place after a long day exploring the city. The living room: The living room and kitchen have an open layout, further fostering a sense of community. The french doors open to the amazing backyard. All the artwork is original. The couch folds out into an incredibly comfortable full bed. The study/nursery: There's a small alcove in front of the bedroom that could be used as a study, nursery or second sitting area. Storage: There are 5 closets for ample storage space throughout the apartment. Two in the main entry way, one in the bedroom, one in the hallway, and one in the kitchen. The backyard: The gem of this building, you have full access to the big, lush, beautifully landscaped backyard! The location: The apartment is in a historic limestone on a residential, tree-lined block in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. It's kitty-corner to a beautiful park and a stone's throw from the Brooklyn Children's Museum. There are a few cafes within a couple blocks and some restaurants just around the corner. It's a 10 minute walk from the gazillion bars and restaurants on Nostrand Avenue and a 15 minute walk from hip Franklin Ave. The Brooklyn Museum, Botanical Gardens, Brooklyn Public Library, and Prospect Park are a tad furtherI do the 20-minute walk to the museum and gardens all the time, but those are just 3 quick subway stops away on the 3 line if you're not much of a walker. There is a 3 train about 5 minutes away (which goes straight to Times Square) and an A/C train about 10 minutes away. Street parking is usually easy to find.
