Located in Historic Greenwich Village, the Washington Irving House was built in 1826 by stonemasons. It has been lovingly restored, preserving and enhancing the historic detail, including seven fireplaces. Hand-hewn wooden beams, antique stone flooring and limestone sinks from the 1500's are a few of its characteristics. The original chestnut wormwood banister remains in perfect condition. The garden level features architectural salvage from turn-of-the-century NYC, repurposed to create a private sanctuary. Modern updates include radiant heating, point-of-entry water filtration system, green roof and air conditioning.
