Modern Loft Living in the Heart of the Hudson Valley Artful. Airy. One-of-a-kind. Are you thinking of moving to the New Paltz area, and looking to experience life here before you do? Then you've just found your dream come true. Escape to the countryside in style! This light-filled, 2,600 sq ft, furnished modern loft-style home with a wraparound 1100 sq ft deck offers peaceful living at its tranquil best, only 5 minutes from the town of New Paltz. Inside, nature and works of art surround you in every room. Subtle design elements and the open layout give a feeling of space and freedom throughout. Or, step out and relax on the continuous deck while listening to the chorus of beautiful birdsong from the hundreds of private wooded acres adjoining the property. (If you walk about a mile through those woods, you'll come out in Robert De Niro's backyard- this is a nice area!) Also, our 30 acre private park is right across the road, owned and maintained by the residents of the street. The Hudson Valley Rail Trail is right down the block, and there are plenty of CIA Chef restaurants nearby (The best way to get an idea of the general effect of life here is to read the comments from our many guests while viewing pictures of the space. Ralph Lauren saw them, and booked our home as an advertising photoshoot location for its "retro-90's modern feel". We couldn't describe it better!) The space has been called an artist's treehouse, an outdoor art gallery, and nature brought indoors - and the most repeated comment from guests is "the pictures don't do it justice!" The home's grand entry leads to the elevated main living space on the second and third floors, with walls of glass rising to the soaring ceilings, 20 large clerestory windows, skylights, interior windows (between rooms), French doors, and more- we just couldn't get enough light! The third-floor loft overlooking the living room is unique, an open space giving you unconfined privacy (with a convertible futon for guests) and a beautiful 360 degree view of trees, mountains, and sky. And, there are two wood burning stoves to keep you cozy on those long winter nights - one in the living room, and another in the Primary Bedroom. There's also the huge chef's kitchen, with 32 feet of rose-quartz granite counters and enough space for a party, an expansive cherry dining table, 20 feet of heavenly suede sofa, soporific recliners, built in recording studio / computer graphics cabinets in the 3rd bedroom, 2 stereo / component locations with quad sound in the main rooms (living room and PBR) and stereo in the rest and don't forget the computerized lighting system, limited access to a wood shop, and even a few free flying lessons if you want. Did we leave anything out? Rental includes the entire second floor home and deck (3 bedrooms), the third floor loft, and a 180 sq ft unheated storage area. Also included in the monthly rental fee are: heat (includes 600 gallons of oil), hot water, central AC, electric (EV charging extra), firewood (2 cords), cable, WiFi, trash collection, water & sewer, lawn care, snow removal, general maintenance, renters insurance, washer/dryer use, private outdoor parking, garage space for one motorcycle or bicycles, a 2500 sq ft garden area, and recreational use of the entire 5+ acre property. Even 24 hour general maintenance and upkeep is included! (House cleaning is available as an extra.) Lastly, pets. Pets are allowed only with prior approval, which also entails "Shepherd Approval". There is a separate pet allowance addendum to the lease, with a separate deposit covering pet related damages. (The ground level floor of the building is not included in the rental. It's private storage and shop space, with a private caretaker's apartment in the rear. There is a pair of German Shepherds (sisters) living on the property, who will happily adopt your family as their "charges" if you like. They are quiet, extremely well trained, and well behaved.) In warmer months, explore mowed walking paths that wind across 5-1/2 serene acres. The hummingbird feeder is a lively local hangout, and further out you'll see turkeys and chicks, deer and their fawns, foxes, raccoons, chipmunks, groundhogs, hawks, owls, geese, a complete North East US aviary with occasional murmurations of starlings in the fall, and even the random egret or bald eagle. The record holders for the yard (at one time) are: 36 adult wild turkeys, and 27 deer, so there's plenty of wildlife viewing right from the windows all year round. And there's no winter playground like 5 acres of virgin snowfall for making a snowman city! 6 month - 1 year renewable leases are available. No transfer of lease or sublets allowed. Please note: The home is not childproofed and is not recommended for younger children. Located just 6 miles from Minnewaska State Park, Mohonk Preserve, and the iconic Mohonk Mountain House, outdoor adventure is at your doorstep: hiking, biking, kayaking, swimming, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and more. You can even spot Skytop Tower from the living room! The scenic train to Manhattan or Montreal is located minutes away in Poughkeepsie, and we're 8 minutes from the NYS Thruway (Exit 18) Nearby Attractions Include: River-to-Ridge Trail & Hudson Valley Rail Trail Hudson Valley wineries & craft breweries Farm-to-table restaurants and local bakeries Apple picking, farm stands, and fresh produce Concerts at Bethel Woods & live music in season The charming towns of New Paltz, Woodstock, Beacon, Rhinebeck, and others are close by, and the Culinary Institute of America 6 month - 1 year renewable leases are available. (Renters insurance is included in rent price). No transfer of lease or sublets allowed. No smoking allowed inside, please. Pets are allowed only with prior approval, which also entails "Shepherd Approval". There is a separate pet allowance addendum to the lease, with a separate deposit covering pet related damages.
