Hi! We are looking for 1 person to join us in our group townhouse in Ballston and are hoping to fill the open room by November 17! Please read all the details below to confirm that you are interested... US: We are three young professionals (males) aged 25-31. We all like to cook and bake and are all physically active during the week. We are all clean and respectful of each other's space and belongings. When something looks like it needs cleaning, we'll all typically chip in. With that said, our house regularly looks like there are four active adults living in it - not spotless, but certainly not messy. Currently, we all are working from home, maintain pretty regular working hours, and respect "quiet time" during the work day. THE HOUSE: This is a 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom shared townhouse, with a finished basement that's used as a bedroom. You enter on the ground floor, which has a decently-sized kitchen and common living/dining area which is all shared space. There is a washer and dryer in the basement, and a small patio off the side of the house with patio furniture and grill. The house is 1.5 blocks north of the Ballston Metro station, about 5 minutes walking, and another block to Ballston Quarter/Exchange. Street parking is available during the day and our house has one dedicated parking spot which we share when needed. We are also very close to the Custis and W&OD trails for running/biking. THE ROOM: The available bedroom is in the basement. It is a livable size, with plenty of storage space. You will share a main bathroom with 2 of the other housemates. The rent for this room is $900 per month, not including utilities. We pay for water, trash pickup, central AC/heat, internet and cable, that collectively averages about $100/person per month. Additionally, upon move in, you'll be expected to buy into the security deposit. Each of the current roommates are equally bought in at $900/person. YOU: We are looking for another young professional between the ages of 25 and 35. We have had female roommates in the past, and are a fully open and accepting household. We'd just like to keep consistent with finding someone who is active, clean, polite and respectful. OTHER: (Things we have to say because our landlord wants us to..) We can't have any pets. No drugs or smoking in the house (non-negotiable). Our current lease period started June 1st, 2024 and runs through May 31, 2025, with the option to extend at that time. Signing on to the current in-progress lease DOES NOT mean that you have to be locked in for a full year. We have had people come and go and, while we'd hope to find someone willing to stay through the next period, we understand that life happens. If you can't stay the full lease period, you will not be penalized for it, but we ask that you support us in finding a replacement housemate. Our landlord is responsive to any issues that arise in the house but also respectful of our personal space and does not come over unless communicated beforehand. We prefer to meet prospective roommates in-person because we want you to be sure you like the space, and we'd like to know that you are a good fit. If you are interested, please email a little about yourself and if you would be willing to come by the house in the next week or prefer to video call in, and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks!
