Yes, this may be the least expensive apartment currently for rent in Ballard. No, it's not for everyone. But Ballard should have a few relatively inexpensive non-subsidized apartments and this is one of them. This sunny, cozy comfortable studio apartment (320 s.f.) is located on a quiet residential street in lower Ballard. Because of the building design of this triplex, this small apartment feels very much like a cottage with the door opening onto its own hedge-enclosed lawn that that has a fig tree (that bears fruit, yum!) and a crab-apple tree (for the birds and the herbalists). There is space available for those who wish to garden. Constructed in the 1940s, the building has vintage charm. Facing south and west the apartment is light and airy with many windows. We've developed a movable clothes closet which doubles as a room divider. This provides a separation of your sleeping area from your guest area, or you can put it against the wall if you prefer a greater open space. The bathroom has only a shower (no tub, sorry). The kitchen has a real refrigerator (not one of those tiny under-the-counter type) and electric stove. While it is a tiny kitchen, there are many shelves, racks and other storage systems. This is a one-cook kitchen; however, there is room for your dinner guests to kibitz while you cook up a feast. This is a strictly non-smoking property. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU SMOKE or your closest friend, who will be over visiting frequently, smokes. No dogs, but a cat with its well-trained and attentive staff is welcome. Potential future pets must be discussed with the owners prior to entering into a rental agreement. The apartment is close to excellent bus service with direct buses to downtown Seattle, the University District, Queen Anne, and Capitol Hill. The apartment is close to restaurants, shops and services. Ballard, founded in the 19th century as a shingle and lumber milling center, is a community with great historic interest and charm. The centerpiece of Old Ballard is Ballard Avenue that is protected as a National Register Historic District. Ballard Avenue is today home to many good restaurants, artists' studios, small shops and music clubs. It is also the location of the Sunday Street Market where local farmers and craftspeople offer their wares to those enjoying a Sunday stroll. The apartment is located at 1119-B NW 56th Street between 11th and 14th NW. (Entrance is from back yard, west side) and will be available January 31st. Please drive by and take a look at the building and neighborhood, but please don't disturb the neighboring tenants. To see the interior please email Richard to arrange a visit on this Sunday afternoon 1/25. We are showing the apartment by appointment only. Thanks for your interest and we look forward to hearing from you!The apartment is rented with a six-month lease, deposit ($900) and first month's rent of $795. Utilities ARE IN ADDITION. The residents of the triplex each pay their share of the utilities and are responsible for maintaining their portion of the yard. In the past, monthly utilities have ranged from $75 in the summer to $160 in the winter.
This property is off market, which means it's not currently listed for sale or rent on Zillow. This may be different from what's available on other websites or public sources.
