    In 1945, Albert Frey, with partner John Porter Clark, completed a unique subdivision of affordable housing in Palm Springs called Bel Vista War Housing. Bel Vista, conceived as an affordable housing tract, was built specifically for War workers and persons in the middle-income bracket desiring to own a home in Palm Springs. The subdivision of 15 homes was the first subdivision in Palm Springs to feature modern-architecture and was the only Frey housing tract.
