Oreland is one of Montgomery County's best kept secrets. The community has the benefit of a very convenient geographical location - a short train ride to Center City, the Airport Line for frequent flyers. Major highways - Route 309, 476 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike are minutes from here. There are many "walkers" in the area, and the Oreland/Wyndmoor Little League is located at the corner of Lyster and Enfield Roads. For older athletes, there are Basketball Courts in the heart of Oreland, along with a playground. The Post Office and Bank and several gas stations are located in the downtown section. The Oreland Village homes were built right after the war for returning Veterans. The builders and original homeowners planted many trees making the area the beautifully landscaped place that it is. The homes have poured concrete foundations, plaster walls and hardwood floors. This particular home is located on a hill with a terraced yard in the rear. The family remembers many a quiet evening relaxing there. A covered porch or Florida room was added to the house. There is a durable Rubbermaid Shed for lawn and garden equipment.
