Custom Tiny Home / ADU in Santa Cruz Mountains, California “There’s no place like home,” and Dorothy was right. This custom-made tiny house, known affectionately as ‘Ruby,’ is ready to be transported home to Oz! Or wherever you may reside! Currently located in between Santa Cruz and the San Lorenzo Valley and sized at 9 ft. wide x 20 ft. long — this 270 sq. ft. home is a literal gem. Built in 2014 by Molecule Tiny Homes in Felton, moved once by ShedMovers.com, and well taken-care of since. Ruby was designed and built locally, out of Douglas Fir wood. With Ash plywood cabinetry and high end fixtures throughout, this home was also built with sustainability in mind. There is NO particle board, glues, or VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) in the construction. Nail and screw-assembled, built the exact same as a stick-build home. Oh wait, we almost forgot to mention the best part! Ruby was entirely built-out around a FULL-SIZED SOAKING TUB in the bathroom, located in the rear third of the structure. Other fabulous amenities include: * Sleeping loft * Tilted ‘shed roof’ that optimizes loft headroom and natural light * 4 fully-operable windows with screens * Custom-fit fully lined light-blocking privacy shades of woven Bamboo * Remote controlled ceiling fan (with light) & AC unit * On-demand LP hot water heater (new in 2021) * Rustic built-in cabinets and storage * Moen one-handle pullout kitchen faucet * Copper vessel sink in the bathroom * Smooth-sided Toto Dual Flush toilet * Energy Star-rated 4.5 CU refrigerator & freezer, electric with partial automatic defrost * 3 burner LP stovetop + oven, propane * Microwave Oven * Integrated lighting throughout * Metal clad roof in Rustic Red color *Custom Dutch front door This is a proper tiny home — or Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) — built on 4 x 6 ft skids so it can be moved by a shed mover. Ready to set on foundation. To transfer the mover simply jacks it up and puts it onto a tilt-trailer for transport. NO WHEELS of its own/not mobile. Ideal for those who have lost their homes in the CZU Lightning Complex fires, or someone who already has hook-ups for an ADU or tiny home (water, septic, electrical). Note: the builder/company ‘Molecule Tiny Homes’ has since been sold and relocated to Washington state. However, ShedMovers.com - the team who originally moved Ruby, is still active, local, and available to provide a quote for relocation.
