Animals allowed with additional security deposit. Owners live on-property and prefer non-smokers and non-partyers. We have a peaceful kingdom with one other renter in a studio attached to our house. Cats and dogs live on property. Goats and sheep reside next door. Miscellaneous chickens - this is Makawao! The lease is for a minimum of 6 months to comply with Maui County's long term rental qualification. Any lease broken before 6 months will incur a fee, outlined in the lease. Owner pays for water and sewer. Tenant pays to refill the propane gas tank. Gas will be full for you at move-in, it currently costs $81 to refill the tank. You can opt to set up your own trash collection account, or you can use our bin. Trash is picked up on Monday and Thursday morning. Please do not overfill the bin or put recyclables in the bin. Tenants must notify landlords of any damages or broken fixtures asap. Please don't wait to notify, especially for any plumbing leaks or electrical issues. Renters insurance is encouraged but not mandatory. We live in a very safe neighborhood on a small dead-end street and we have not had any burglary or other crime issues in the past 15 years that we have lived here.
