This textbook example of a Shingle Style Victorian, built in 1900, was occupied by three generations of the original owner since 1900, changing ownership after over 100 years in 2006. It is comprised of three floors and a basement, where mechanical equipment are housed, with the first floor consisting of the public rooms of the house, including a 1/2 bath off of the central hall, from which access is gained to the living room with fireplace, the dining room, and the service hall leading to the kitchen, a butler's pantry and a breakfast room that adjoins the dining room. The next, or second floor, consists of five bedrooms, three with walk-in closets, one of which exists in the Master Bedroom, two with adjoining sun rooms, again, one of which is adjoined to the Master Bedroom, with the Master Bedroom including both a fireplace and full bathroom; the remaining two full bathrooms on this floor are centrally located along the hall connecting all bedrooms, as well as a third room that serves as an office which includes a fireplace. At the head of the central lies the stair landing which takes one up to the finished Ballroom, with a fireplace, that occupies the entire third floor above the main body of the house, with a service hall, including sink, and storage extending toward the back of the house over the central hall to the bedrooms and bathrooms directly below. Original millwork used to frame door and window openings, and baseboards is intact, as is the original door and window hardware. In 2006, the entire brick foundation, whose mortar was failing, causing an unlevel floor, was replaced with a perimeter pier and beam, poured reinforced concrete design then the entire structure re-leveled. Also in 2006, the waste line was replaced from the house to the city connection at the street, and the utility service lines -- electrical, phone, and cable -- were relocated underground to eliminate the recurrence of a tree, downed by a storm, from damaging those lines and disrupting needed services. In 2008, a standby, emergency generator was installed to provide electrical power during the all too frequent outages resulting from local storms in both summer and winter.
