House and attached business, Cats Cradle, Luxury Cat Boarding. The first eight pictures are of Cats Cradle. The rest are of the house. Cats Cradle is a profitable turnkey home business caring for kitties, a few steps away from your front door. The house is being sold only to those who would like to run the cattery that can help pay for itself and the ten-room house. Access the website at www.catscradlewnc.com Cats Cradle and the home at 12 Quiet Creek Lane in Black Mountain are nestled at the end of a lush green, private road with only one other house on the street. CATS CRADLE: THE BUSINESS Located in Black Mountain in Western North Carolina, near Asheville, Cats Cradle has 11 individual rooms, a window in each room overlooking a green garden with trees and bushes filled with birds and squirrels, a half-screened door to each room to observe the cats (and vice versa), and a common room for exploration, play, and attention—one room at a time. Cats Cradle opened on Jan 1, 2015. Rooms can hold two (sometimes 3) cats, depending on size and disposition of the kitties. Seventeen cats are the most we’ve ever housed at one time. It is now a turnkey business that comes fully operable with a data base of steady clientele who rely on us to provide safe and comfortable cat-lodgings. There is no other facility like it in Western North Carolina. Please see our website, www.catscradlewnc.com Our goal was to build Cats Cradle, turn it into a profitable business, and eventually sell the house and the business and retire. We have grown extremely fond of the house, neighbors, and lush surroundings but want to follow through with our original goal because Cats Cradle is such a needed facility for our human clients and their feline friends. The house and the cattery are inseparable. 12 QUIET CREEK LANE: THE HOME The house itself, in the unique town of Black Mountain, has nooks and crannies and rooms of all types that can be used in multifarious ways. It is on a "street-driveway" that contains only one other house. It has a fenced yard (if you also have a pet of canine persuasion). Songbirds, cardinals, wrens, crows, and hawks nestle in your trees and those of the only other house on the block. Squirrels flying trapeze and doing acrobatics in front of cat windows, occasional turtles, wild turkeys, and bears in the front yard are other neighbors. The home is approximately 3430 square feet, with ten rooms, and three and ½ baths. Two top floor bedrooms with stunning light and views and a full bath overlook the trees and the yard that might prepare you for a zipline adventure. Two possible “office rooms” are next to each bedroom. Six months of the year no other house can be seen other than the one next door. The entire top floor was an Air BnB in 2015-2016, with one of the “extra rooms” serving as a breakfast nook. It was booked most weekends. The main floor consists of foyer, spacious living room, dining room with view of a dogwood tree, kitchen with stainless appliances and granite countertops, and master bedroom with ensuite bath and walk-in closet. Doors lead to the almost wraparound deck from the dining room and the master bedroom. There is a half bath for guests in the hall. A gas fireplace situates in a center wall open on both sides to the living room/dining room. The bottom floor is a large finished, carpeted room running the length of the house. Windows run the length of the room on one side, overlooking the yard and patio give one the feel of living in a terrarium. A smaller room on one end can serve as a fourth bedroom or office with a closet but no window. A full, but small bath is near that extra room. This floor could also be converted into a temporary rental with exterior improvements made for access. All in all, an amazing opportunity for just the right family, couple early retirees, etc. Two or three cat-lovers could create a group home.
