Spearfish is located on Interstate 90, a major east-west U.S. highway, just 12 miles from the Wyoming border. Less than an hour away to the east is the larger city of Rapid City, including Rapid City Regional Airport (RAP), which has regular flight service from Delta, American, United, and Allegiant Airlines. Weather in Spearfish is quite pleasant, with low humidity, warm days and cool nights in the summer (the house is approximately 4,000 feet above sea level). The winters are more temperate in the Hills than in the surrounding plains areas of the Dakotas, although accumulations of winter snow are quite normal. The Fall season, with its magnificent changing colors of aspen and oak trees, is incredible. This home is part of the 4-home Villas at Canyon Gate HOA as well as the larger, encompassing 18-site Canyon Gate Village HOA. The Villa group maintains a private drive, and provides for winter snow removal.
