This was a diligent attempt to revive a home in an underwire able neighborhood. Numerous repairs and expensive remodels are and have been relentless ! From great remodels by Professional contractors back to square one. There are more homes in foreclosure or serious safety and code violations than any other neighborhood in our district. There are boarded up windows, drug addicts in empty homes and countless vandals. Police call and respond reports for this neighborhood are staggering. The latest data found, there are 77 registered sex offenders in this area! Severe flooding and drainage issues are unacceptable! A child shot in the neighborhood park, stabbing recently, just will not stop. This specific property is a very sad heartbreak. A genuine attempt to revive a home in an undesirable neighborhood. Really determined, countless hours of hard work & excessive expenses only to know that this home is back to square one , these are really hard to accept. Flooding and improper drainage , sewer drainage backs up very badly in this area. Basements that have 100 yr old poured concrete foundations are no longer structurally sound and creating electrical & plumbing safety hazards. Very few plugs and outlets work after new wiring less than 4 yrs ago. Sparks come out of some outlets now & the kitchen sink drains into the only bathtub when it storms. Squirrels have completely damaged a new detached garage, tearing the insulation out and chewing the wiring. They are impossible to keep out. Many professional called out and have even had difficulty trapping them. There is water coming from the pvc pipe at the meter. Very serious safety hazards in this home. It's heartbreaking when you make a personal connection with hopeless Real Estate. I do believe there was once hope for this subdivision but the conditions have declined so rapidly, it is over. Even the ground this house sits on is so saturated it is literally pushing the house & garage up from the ground and cracking the concrete. Horizontal 4-5 feet cracks in the basement walls, hardwoods have began to bow and creak, are just the tip of the iceberg.
