Merchantville was called one of the top 40 up and coming places to live in by Phila. Magazine in 2007 and was quoted to be a good buy. Even though the real estate market has hit hard times, the comparisons the magazine made with Merchantville to Haddonfield and Moorestown are still valid. It has the convenience of a main street with shops, restaurants. The feeling of a hometown, with parades, art shows, antique car show. And, it is a convenient place to live if you work in Philadelphia because the bus to Phila, or Moorestown, or Cherry Hill Mall, (1 mile away), stops at the corner of our street and throughout town. It literally takes less than ten minutes to travel any of the three bridges into Philadelphia by car. The population is diverse, the architectural styles diverse, and the area is beautiful for walking. Great local police force and great fire company. A lot like Mayberry.
