We bought it in 2007 and started remodeling. We started in the large crawl space, and finished in the attic. We re-sided in Azac and Hardie Board, put in a new system 2000 boiler, and a new fuel tank. We had it energy rated and it received 4 plus stars. It has a lovely modern soapstone sided Scan wood stove that gives off incredible heat. (We once got it up to 85 degrees in mid winter and had to open the doors!) The bird’s eye view of the area is great, and it’s very private when you’re inside, because of the large spruce trees across the street, and in the backyard. This home is centrally located in town and has great access to schools, shopping, and the boat harbor! There is a ton of light in the upstairs unit, a garden window, and a back door to the yard. The floors were all carpet and have been replaced with high traffic laminate plank flooring that’s easy to keep clean and the home comes with several boxes of extra planks for each unit. (We saved it…just in case!) We added a new retaining wall, stairs, and 4 parking spots a few years ago. We lived upstairs 8 years and it’s been used as a rental since. It has an awesome rental history and has been a great experience, but we have since moved and being a long distance manager for this property is challenging.
