Built in 1927 by local businessman Carroll Loper, the house was built from plans from Architect George Fowler, originally published in the January 1918 edition of 'The Touchstone.' The house features interior trim, doors, and built-ins made of Long Island Walnut with the original hardwood floors throughout. There is a separate two car garage with a loft. Sitting on an acre of land the original Loper Estate featured a Rock Garden with walking paths, a service court with drying yard for laundry, and a tennis court. There are a wide variety of unique trees that were planted to accent the estate property. The house sits at the high point of the Arlington Estates area of Port Jefferson and overlooks Port Jeff Harbor with seasonal views of the water from the front rooms of the house.
