Dear Visitor: As you enter from the front door you’ll see the living/dining area and kitchen with it’s wood burning fireplace. You’ll notice the living room floor is the original red brick, which has a slight sheen from 50 years of living. A ‘brook’ is suggested by river stones that divide the modern kitchen from the living room. The kitchen has every amenity. The hallway and the two bedrooms have light bamboo floors. On your right is a closet that holds the washer/dryer stack. Next to that the door to the guest room. It has a queen bed and an en-suite bathroom with a whirlpool tub. ( the tub has a handhold, but this bedroom is not designed or furnished for someone in a wheelchair) To the left side of the hall is the master bedroom. It has plenty of closet space, an extra long twin and plenty of room for a disabled person to move around in a wheelchair. There is enough space for the massage chair if you don’t want it in the living room. If you have a service dog, he’ll also have room to stretch out. The ensuite bathroom has a shower with a bench and a vertical bar to help you get back up from the bench or the toilet or to ‘swing’ over to the wheelchair for hemiplegics like myself. There are two shower heads, one regular and one handheld. At the end of the hall is the back door leading to the on-property parking. I had metal ramps made for the front and back which can be re-installed should you need them. If you need extra handholds to suit your disability, please let the rental agent know ahead of time so temporary (springloaded) ones can be ordered and installed properly for your safety. I had a stroke in 1999 and designed the condo for ease of use by a hemiplegic with a wheelchair. I am happy to try to accommodate your needs as far as the unit will allow without making permanent changes. If you are not from the area and want to make sure the condo will be appropriate, I can call Challenge Aspen and have someone with a similar disability try things out before you commit!
