This house is a recently remodeled duplex with a garden. The upstairs 3 BR/1 BA with in-unit laundry and a gas fireplace is available New Year's Day. Newlyweds Sarah and Colin and their dog Marley live downstairs. They are reliably awesome, the kind of people that always return a tupperware with something lovely in it. I think it is fair to say that they are one of the great appeals of living in this house. The neighborhood is also great. Egidio, the handle-bar moustached Italian to the west makes his own wine, pickled peppers, and salumi. I am inspired by these neighbors and hope that the new tenants who move-in value this sort of established community as well. I am looking for applicants with a willingness to work towards this vision more than I am looking to make the most rent. For this reason, and because this is not a formal duplex, I've discounted the upstairs unit to $1,797 per month, plus ~$90 for electricity. The tenant who is moving out from upstairs has really improved the landscaping around the house. I would like to have someone move in who is interested in maintaining theses areas. I own three more lots behind this house that I am building on slowly. My plan is to create more multi-unit houses with yards and gardens. Tenants on the private drive will have final say on who moves in to these units and are encouraged to build their own community. A community berry garden spans all 4 lots.
