Our adorable historic home located in the heart of Newtown, just two short blocks from all downtown Staunton has to offer, will be available in July (possibly sooner, email us for details) at a rate of $2400/month while we serve as dorm parents just down the road at Stuart Hall School. Built in 1908, this Elizabethan Cottage has loads of charm, including original hardwood floors, built in bookshelves and storage throughout, and a flowering perennial garden. On the Main Level you will find: a relaxing front porch, spacious coat closet, living room, dining room- featuring a balcony and bay window (both with incredible views downtown and of Betsy Bell/Mary Gray mountains) kitchen, and full bath. Head upstairs to find: the Main Bedroom with dual closet spaces, 2nd bedroom (with incredible views downtown and of Betsy Bell/Mary Gray mountains), and another full bath. Head downstairs to find: a finished basement with an office/3rd Bedroom (no official closet), tons of storage & natural light, deep freezer, washer & dryer, and walk out access to paved patio/ backyard. General upkeep of the yard and snow removal is the responsibility of the tenant. (A mower and snow shovel are provided on site for your use) While there is plenty of street parking available, the home also boasts a private driveway with off street parking for 1 car. Pets (max of 2) will be considered on a case by case basis with a non-refundable pet deposit of $300 each. We have a nice little fenced in yard and porch area, as well as a pet accessible screen door off the upper back porch so they may come and go as they please once you activate that setting. There is NO additional pet rent for furry family members :) As stated, this is a historic home (1908!) which means while it's BIG on charm, it has its quirks- including a couple of old (rope & pulley style) windows that require a support piece to keep open.
