âœCasa Ballerinaâ, an architectural jewel from the 50âs, is back on the market! Nestled on a beautiful builderâs acre lot in the heart of Pinecrest and surrounded by oaks, silver palms, pines, and a charming coral rock wall, sits an original Mid-Century Modern house designed by nationally recognized architect and first Dean at the School of Architecture of the University of Miami, Robert Fitch Smith. Influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright, Fitch-Smith chose to use natural materials throughout his houses. The home features the original red signature concrete & wood floors, Dade Pine vaulted beamed ceilings, block walls, brick fireplace & extensive banks of wood and glass windows. The exterior features irregular lines & sloping rooflines & a separate artistâs studio & cooling entrance breezeway.
