Private, older cabin 30 minute drive from North Asheville, deep in woods on a gravel driveway. Scenic, rugged, Appalachian family property located within walking distance to Pisgah National Forest. Water source is spring fed. There are some other structures on the property though the rental cabin has it's own driveway and an undisturbed mountain view. This property has been farmed in the past and may be enjoyed for hiking, gardening, farming or by pets upon approval. The property is off a gravel road, all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive vehicles work best. One other renter lives on the property but is not within view of the cabin which has it's own driveway. Our family also uses the property. This home is only available to view at approved times, and the home is not visible from the public road. NOTE- a GPS sends people too far, and it's hard to turn around if you miss the driveway. Drive very slowly once the public road goes from pavement to gravel, as you are almost there. Watch mailbox addresses. This driveway is adjacent to three mailboxes. While this cabin is remote it has good internet connection and remote workers have lived here before. This cabin has one bedroom, one laundry room and one main room with a compact kitchen. There is a wide porch with a clear view of the mountains. Outside fires are only allowed when fire risk is low. If you like water, there is a refreshing creek and a small pond with bass and bluegill within walking distance. Barnardsville is a very small town, but it has Navitat, a fun zip-lining tour, Big Ivy Beef, a grass fed beef farm, a community center and swimming pool, a post office, several convenient stores with gas. D&D restaurant and Sheena's Restaurant is being remodeled. Weaverville and Mars Hill are the closest towns with shopping. Preferable one year lease. Renter responsible for setting up electric, internet, and phone. Duke Progress is the power company. Non-smoking indoors preferred. Renter mows yard. Owner will provide their own lease applications during viewing.
