While centrally located in the very active South Side, being 2 blocks off the main drag, and at a generally quiet part of East Carson at that, this block is surprisingly quiet. I'm up at 5 AM everyday, and have no problem getting to sleep, as some complain about in other sections of the neighborhood. On top of that, it's very close to the Birmingham Bridge, which makes getting to Oakland or Downtown super fast.
