Use your own food that you keep in your designated cabinets and refrigerator space. 4. Respect personal space. Even if you and your roommate are very good friends or have very outgoing personalities, you'll still need to be alone sometimes. Make sure to respect everyone's personal space. Keep your personal space clean, healthy and tidy. 9. Share the common spaces. Make sure that every roommate has a chance to use the common spaces if they want to. If you have a communal TV or stereo in a common area, take turns using it rather than keeping it all to yourself. If you know that your roommate has to work from home, study or sleep, consider watching your favorite shows or listening to music with headphones so they aren't disturbed. Do not move through common areas in a state of undress, such as walking around nude or with minimal coverage. Report and damaged/broken items as soon as possible. 10. Be safe. Space heaters must have tip over protection and be approved by the home owner. No open flames (e.g. candles). Lock doors when leaving and home is empty. 11.
