Newly renovated adorable home, 2 bedrooms and one bath. It is an easy walk to UNM Hospital, School of Medicine and Law School, also a short drive/bike to Whole Foods and Nob Hill. Kitchen is open to the main living space, with big windows and nice natural lighting. Granite countertops, bar seating with 2 stools, nice stainless steel appliances, gas stove. We created a lovely oasis in the backyard, with small lawn with sprinkler system, crushed rock paths, raised beds (with great exposure and which have grown fabulous tomatoes, eggplants and green chiles), an herb garden, producing apple and pear trees and a very nice Trex deck with pergola/ latilla covering and climbing rose. There is also a (raccoon-proof) chicken enclosure on the side of the house, where we kept our 7 chickens at night and generally let them roam the back yard during the day. Heating and cooling is with heat pump/ ductless mini splits, allowing for room by room temperature control. We also put in a nice gas fireplace for extra wintertime coziness. New washer/dryer in the garage with a folding table and both cabinet and wire rack extra storage space. There is still room to park one car in the garage and room for two in the driveway. It has a new roof and new stucco within the last 3 years. We are recent graduates of UNM School of Medicine who left town for residency, and would love to share our little paradise with someone who would appreciate it and use it all! Dogs, cats and chickens all encouraged, and hopefully it would be someone with a green thumb and interest in some gardening. Ideally we would like someone who may be there for a few years. (The house is small and probably ideal for a couple or two friends, but we did make it work with an infant, a three year old, 2 adults and three dogs!) We will pay the water bill; tenant pays gas, electrical, internet etc. $500 security deposit with first month's rent. Preference for people who would potentially stay at least a year and want to take care of the house! Pets allowed (dogs encouraged, chicken run already in side yard) Comes mostly unfurnished; only comes with rugs.
