Our home is a ranch, but the attic is finished and houses the master bedroom, a bathroom, an extra room that we use as an office and a huge walk-in closet over the garage. The kitchen was redone in January 2010 with new cabinets, countertops, floor (recycled vinyl), stove and microwave. Energy Star refrigerator purchased in 2007. Built-ins also added to the family room at the same time. Entire HVAC system replaced with high-efficiency AC and furnace in June 2010. Flat family room roof replaced with sloped shingle roof in 2011. Entire interior of family room also redone with new walls, ceiling, insulation at the same time. Old wood burning fireplace replaced with ventless gas fireplace and old sliding glass door replaced with French doors. New carpeting in family room and computer room. Other changes made to upstairs master suite, including new window to replace old door wall and built in bookcase niche to replace another window. Neighborhood Description Huntington Woods is an older, wonderful family-oriented community with lots of trees and a wide variety of home styles. In a normal market, homes sell very quickly -- often before a sign goes up. It's very centrally located and right near the 696 freeway and Woodward Ave, as well as near Royal Oak and Ferndale. We're about 20 minutes from downtown Detroit and 45 minutes from Ann Arbor. On a nice day, you can see children outside playing and people walking or jogging through the neighborhood. We are also near the Detroit Zoo and Rackham Golf Course.
