The living room with its loft and vaulted ceiling was originally the art studio for Baldwin School. (The student's cubbys are still in the basement.) In 1910, two art teachers built a three bedroom house onto the room. In 1980, we purchased the house and put dormers in the third floor to create a spacious 5 bedroom home. From this home, our children were able to walk to school and to Bryn Mawr proper. My husband and I were able to walk to the Bryn Mawr train station and thus to work. This house has enabled us to maintain a tight knit family without the strain of having to continually worry about schedules. The house is well insulated with a no maintenance exterior (Dryvit). The roof is in good shape although not new. Neighborhood Description This house is a in a great location for a family. Bryn Mawr Presbyterian, with a fantastic nursery school is right across the street. Baldwin Girls school is right behind the house and for those who prefer, The Shipley School for boys and girls is within walking distance with a crossing guard at the only busy street crossing. Walk to the Bryn Mawr train station, downtown Bryn Mawr and to the Bryn Mawr Hospital.
