    What's special

This beautiful cabin is tucked in the Tahoe National Forest right of HWY 49 in the small Carvin Creek Summer Home Track community near Bassets. The cabin is located on the largest lot of the community; You are meant to enjoy the silence of the forest with a faint sound of the beautiful creek just a short walk away. Although it feels like you are "off the grid" This cabin is only minutes away from the Yuba River to enjoy fishing and swimming. Less than 20 minutes away from the famous Mountain Bike trails of Downieville. The Historical Pacific Coast Trail(PCT) is only 10 minutes away for some of the most beautiful hiking destinations. There are also a couple of lakes! Sardine Lake is only 10 minutes away as well as Gold Lake for some of the best fishing in California for Rainbow and Brown Trout. There are so many summer activities for your kids including Sand Pond, Kayaking, Horseback Riding, Hiking and so much more; Endless memories await you and your family in these beautiful mountains. Some things to know about the cabin: -THIS IS NOT A CABIN FOR YEAR AROUND LIVING. The land is owned by the United States Forrest Service because it is part of the Tahoe National Forrest and is part of a land lease; You will have a Special Use permit which will be registered and transferred to you at the time of purchase. The months that get the most use are usually early March into late October/November. (It all depends of the snow fall in the Sierras) The cabin access roads are not plowed in the winter months; Only HWY 49 is plowed. -This cabin is for sale "As Is" and is NOT turn-key ready; It does need a little work to rehabilitate it to full use. -The photos provided are with all the winter shutters closed; the windows and window glass are completely fine and do not need to be replaced. It has not been occupied for several years so here are some of the things it will need that we are aware of: -It needs to be reconnected to the community water well and we have not recently tested the pump. It has however been updated to all PAX piping so no worries on pipes bursting in the winter. - It has a septic tank; it is not connected to the city septic system. - As you can see from photos you will need to replace some of the exterior boards from the years of winter wear; It will need a fresh coat of exterior paint in forest colors approved by the Forest Service. - You need to replace the shower as it does not work; The hardware is exposed and the standing shower is outdated. -There is NO central heating and air. There is an original 1950's Cast Iron Wood stove that will cook your breakfast and keep the cabin warm all in one; As well as a separate fire place to burn a cozy fire during your evenings. -There IS also an electric stove, refrigerator and full electric power to add any other amenities you may desire to make this cabin your summer oasis. -The back porch is huge and includes a picnic table but does need new stairs and support railings in the back access. -The red beams you see above the porch support hanging chairs with incredible views of the mountain peeking through the trees to enjoy your morning coffee in pure bliss. (we will leave the spring hook support behind) As you can tell from the photos it just needs your TLC and a little paint to give it that "New Cabin" feel. If you have any additional questions about the cabin please reach out to me! You can call me directly at (707) 564-5017 I would love to share the history and answer any questions you may have! These family cabins are very rare to find and almost never come on the market; You won't find anything like this again so don't miss your opportunity to own a piece of history to enjoy for your generations to come.
